Feature Friday: Palm Springs

Cocktails by the pool anyone?
It is Friday after all!

Who doesn't love a Palm Springs home?

This single level beauty is in sunny California.
White interior and exterior, oversized pool, palm trees fringing the skyline, cactis growing, lush green lawns and oversized bedrooms.

Of course you cannot forget the quirky yellow front door. It wouldn't be Palm Springs without that pop of fun colour.

What's not to love about Palm Springs?

Feature Friday: Bay Beach House

I love that every home has a story to tell.

This home is no different and today I am sharing the story of an old weatherboard cottage which has been lovingly renovated to what it is today - the home of Husband and Wife, Dave + Jaime and their family.

I was so delighted when Dave and Jaime wanted to share their home with you all as part of my weekly Feature Friday Home Tour post. Together, these two make the dream team. With Jaime having an eye for colour and interior design and Dave having the green thumb and love of landscaping (seriously, take note of the incredible hedges!) they have pulled off a stunning home renovation.

It is a home that belongs on the cover of a magazine that would sit on your coffee table - the eye catching green hedges, the classic weatherboard, the plantation shutters and picket fence that immediately captivate you.

I will let this homes story be told by Jaime and Dave...

Feature Friday: French Provincial meets Coastal

Today's Home Tour:

- Elegant - French Provincial - Coastal - New England -

Today I am thrilled to have the lovely Dina Miller joining us to showcase her beautiful South Australian home as part of our Feature Friday Home Tour. If you love a touch of French Provincial, Coastal and New England home style, then I know you will love Dina's beautiful home.

Each week I like to showcase a differently styled home. We have recently had a Montana Lake house and a Casuarina Beach house. I love being able to show you inside someone's home - their sanctuary and introduce you to Aussie talented interior lovers. It is about now that I would say, cue the stalking part and some furious pinning as I know you will love the home I am sharing with you today.

Let's take a look inside shall we and meet the lovely Dina, I bet you are busting to see this beauty...

Feature Friday: Montana Lake House

Every now and then a house on Houzz will pop up in my inbox and captivate me. This was one of them and I thought I would share it with you today as part of Feature Friday.

The home is on sloping landscape in northern Montana overlooking Flathead Lake.

It features a minimal material palette of wood and stone to create something that feels less like a piece of architecture and more like a piece of art. Come and take a look inside...

Feature Friday: European design meets Australian lifestyle

A home so unique - it has been described as European design, meeting the Australian lifestyle.

It's called 'Gaelforce' and I know you are going to love this home tour.

This property makes the most of the Australian lifestyle - with its open timber decks, infinity pool, waterfront facilities (jetty and boat anyone?!) and even a private boathouse.

It is right on the shores of prestigious Pittwater, furnished with European art, imported furniture and fittings. There is bold art, extravagant chandeliers and four claw baths - all oozing the European feel.
Juxtaposing this is the open outdoor tree house feel, the standout Australian gum trees, and endless outdoor living and spectacular views. It is a European home, embracing with wide open arms the beautiful Aussie landscape and location.

It is quite the combination.
See for yourself the full home tour today as part of our weekly Feature Friday post.

Feature Friday: A tiny home only 7.5ft wide!

It is incredible to see what modern architecture is capable of.

Could you live in a home only 7.5 feet (thats only 2.5 meters!) wide?

I couldn't!
But I am truly fascinated by this home and what you can fit into a home so tiny in width!

Today I am sharing a Feature Friday Home Tour with a difference - especially when compared to last weeks Resort styled living home!

Would you believe this home in the south of London has four bedrooms, a study, a separate dining area and even a vege patch in the garden.

Feature Friday: Resort Styled Living

I came across this real estate listing and my heart skipped a beat.
I love looking at real estate in my neighbourhood and this slice of luxury is just a hop, skip and a jump from where I live.

I thought you might like to see a little luxury resort living for this weeks Feature Friday post?

The agent describes it as

"an estate architecturally crafted to resemble a resort"

Let's take a look shall we...

Feature Friday: Casuarina Cabana

When a beach house's mantra is....
                             Eat, Sleep, Beach, Repeat
....you know you are in for a treat!

Today I am so excited to share with you the beach house of a very lovely lady. 'Casuarina Cabana' belongs to Kylie, I love following Kylie's daily snaps of her tropical beach style on Instagram and admiring her gorgeous cushion range - The Coastal Cushion Company (think tropical, coastal, Hamptons and nautical!).

Kylie is a fellow Gold Coaster who is lucky to have a beach house at Casuarina on the Tweed coast.

Casuarina Cabana is a beach house with a relaxed coastal vibe, with the house's open plan layout creating an embracing feel.

Only 50 meters to the beach pathway, you can't get much closer than this. Nestled in coastal bushland, the flat board walks will take you to this slice of beach paradise. What untouched beauty...what do you think of this?

Emma calls the bayside of Brisbane home and today I am so thrilled to share Emma's coastal, eclectic and colourful home. If you have boys, then you will fall in love with Emma's styling and awesome bedroom interiors. Don't even get me started on the playroom...I want to hang out there!

Feature Friday: Beachy Vibe House

source
I love being a sticky beak and seeing inside peoples homes - seeing their style and personality infused throughout the home. If you pop in here weekly you may have seen a Feature Friday home tour post before? For this weeks home tour, we are stepping inside the home of Cathy of Beachy Vibe House. I met Cathy through Instagram and have been following her posts for some time - seeing snapshots of her home, cute puppy dog Molly and life.

In 2015, Cathy started a blog Beachy Vibe House where she shares some of her DIY projects on using timber beadsbedroom inspiration for your tots to teens and how she tackled a kitchen renovation for under $500!

2015 was an exciting year for Cathy, with the launch of her new blog, Cathy's home was also featured in top Australian magazines:
- A home tour was published in Homes+ Magazine
- Cathy's newly renovated master suite was awarded Top 15 in Australia's Home Beautiful Top 50 Most Beautiful Rooms for 2015.
What a exciting year!

Today I thought I would introduce you to Cathy and we would take a peek inside her home. I adore Cathy's home and relaxed beachy style. I would use the following words to describe Cathy's home - beachy, eclectic, tribal, tropical, Balinese, relaxed and welcoming.

Cathy's home is full of art, upcycled furniture, texture and so much love. You can see the hard work and love Cathy and her family have put into this home to make it into a relaxed oasis.

I can't wait for you to meet Cathy and see insider her home, lets take a look shall we?!

Feature Friday: Hamptons at its best!

This is Hamptons living at its best.

This Brisbane beauty is the work of the Verandah House, a duo who specialise in design and decoration projects - they have nailed the brief here with a Queensland take on the Hamptons style.

The lovely Nikki from Nooks & Cranny messaged me last week, sending me a link to this amazing property, saying that she thought I might like it as my next Feature Friday home tour.
Like it indeed! I love it!

Elegant, timeless and so light and airy, it is the ultimate Hamptons home.

What is the Hamptons you ask?
Its a seaside place where wealthy New Yorkers have holiday homes and spend their summer. The style can be defined as relaxed beach living but in a classy and classic way. Think sophisticated whites, stripes, bell shaped pendant lights, white wood panelling, white linen lounges and bay windows.

Lets take a look inside this breeze Brisbane Bayside home...

Feature Friday: Melinda's light filled Sydney Home

Its my first official post for 2016 and I am kicking it off with a Feature Friday home tour post - with a difference.

Today I am so excited to share with you a home of a very lovely lady. Let me tell you a little about Melinda. I am busting to share her home with you all, but first I will tell you about Melinda...

Melinda and I became friends on Instagram. She is one of those lovely friends who always takes the time to leave thoughtful and kind comments and cheery emoticons. She is the friend you all want and need and today I am happy to share Melinda and her gorgeous home with you all.

An interior design lover, with an eye for neutral tones and textures. Melinda lives on the sunny Northern Beaches of Sydney with her family and Honey the Cavoodle. If you already follow her on Instragram you will know she is an avid photo taker and loves to take part in Photo-a-day and Doodle-a-day (she is great at it too!).

Her gorgeous Honey the Cavoodle matches the decor and is always to be found in funny places - on the coffee table, lounge, on the outdoor table! She is a great laugh and I love following her antics.

So lets take a look inside Melinda's home shall we and learn a little more about this lovely lady and her fabulous interior style....

Feature Friday: Kyal & Kara's Renovation Project

I am a big fan of the Block contestants Kyal and Kara. I love their style, design ideas and their use of crafted timber in their designs. When they entered The Block, they had recently finished their own renovation on the NSW Central Coast. A tiny 95m2 little three bedroom cottage was transformed into 300m2 masterpiece - high ceilings, lots of natural light and timber touches by Carpenter Kyal.

Their style has been described as natural, organic, modern and Scandinavian. Lets take a look inside their masterpiece..

Feature Friday: Inside the home of Darren Palmer

The Block judge, Darren Palmer had just sold his Edgecliff Sydney home which he recntly finished renovating. A dual level Federation home, its elegant, light filled and has Darren's signature style throughout the home.

Yes - there is seagrass wallpaper on the bedroom wall!
Recently I showed you one of Darren Palmer's latest projects the BoysTown Prize Home and you all loved it and his style, so I thought why not step inside Darren's home and see for yourself his style?!

Lets take a look inside...

Feature Friday: Darren Palmer's Entertainers Paradise

You may have seen my Instagram post earlier in the week where I was swooning over the talented Darren Palmer's interior talents? I went and viewed the latest BoysTown prize home, incase you missed it, its here.

Darren Palmer (the nice Block judge!) has created the most beautiful interior in BoysTown's latest Christmas prize home at Palm Beach on the Gold Coast. Darren has created an entertainer's paradise right on the beach front. With uninterrupted ocean views from a third floor apartment, it homely, luxury and very elegant.

The kitchen is marble, the floorboards are oversized herringbone oak, with every detail, inside and out, well-considered and beautifully finished. It features three bedrooms, three bathrooms and for apartment living, oversized living areas.

Feature Friday: Tropical Modern Home in Auckland

When I hear the word 'tropical', Auckland doesn't come to mind. That's why I was so surprised to come across this modern, tropical home recently. Since when did it get warm enough in New Zealand for a pool and palm trees?!

Feature Friday: Byron's Best

One of the best views in Byron Bay.

This home is truly spectacular and this is what 7.2 million dollars looks like (or you can rent it for $3000 a week!).

Have you been to Byron Bay before? Perhaps you have walked from main beach along to the Pass or even the lighthouse? If so, its very likely you glanced up and saw this beauty nestled among the trees of a nature reserve.

With uninterrupted ocean and mountain views and located right on the beach, this property is one beyond compare. With three stories, amazing full length glass windows and doors, each room has an amazing view.

I can't wait to show you inside...

Feature Friday: The Eclectic home of Amber Thrane

We all love a peek inside someone else's home don't we?

I came across the home of Amber Thrane of Dulcet Creative.  Amber is the co-owner of Dulcet Creative, a sunny Californian who styles, photographs, does set design and helps businesses with creative direction. Wow!

You already know this home is going to be something a little special after reading about all that creative talent, don't you?

Amber's home is an eclectic style of old and new, with a hint of bohemian, modern and industrial. It's clear she has a love for indoor plants and they add that homely warmth and lived in feel I think. Each corner of the home is filled with trinkets and treasures, making the space feel that it would have some stories to tell.

Lets take a look inside shall we?

Feature Friday: Effortless Elegance in Brisbane

Effortless elegance with a splash of colour.

It is hard to imagine that this cottage has stood in Brisbane since the the late 1890's. It has obviously been given a lovely new lease of life, with a massive rear renovation being added to open up the rear of the home to its north facing aspect. Oh and there may have been a lick of paint or so somewhere in there too!! ;P
The house was completely renovated in a six month period, with the owners baby due date marking the project's deadline.

But lets let the house do the talking, lets take a look inside shall we?
